This is one of the main transhipment and storage options outside the Union for storage in Europe until customs clearance or onward delivery to a consignee. It is one of the customs procedures that determines the order for cross-border movement of goods and specifics of their further use. A customs procedure under which goods brought into the customs territory of the EU are stored under customs control free of customs duties. Warehouses equipped with heating or cooling systems allow companies to store their goods in accordance with sanitary standards and without compromising quality. Temperature-controlled warehouses are especially popular because they are used not only for storing food but also for storing industrial goods.

The storage and processing of various goods has its own specifics. This applies in full to foodstuffs, as this product group is quite wide - it includes frozen products: meat, fish, semi-finished products, confectionery; products to be stored in a "positive" cold: dairy products, sausages, vegetables and fruits, as well as "dry" products - foods that do not require severe storage temperatures, foodstuffs, beverages, animal feed and alcoholic beverages. As to the special requirements for warehouse equipment - there are no such requirements. This is usually a front-type shelving system and an accounting system that in many cases determines in which cell a pallet of goods can be placed, taking into account its weight, dimensions and shelf life, as well as batch numbers. However, such warehouses have very strict food and veterinary inspections, after which a certificate will be issued indicating the specific groups of goods that the warehouse can store. Such warehouses do not provide warehousing services for goods not specified in the certificate issued by the Food and Veterinary Office.

Warehouses that are specially organized for the storage of medicines and medical supplies are called medicine warehouses. There are several significant differences between medicine warehouses and medicine chambers and conventional refrigerated warehouses and chambers used in the food industry (more about refrigerated warehouses for food storage). The Ministry of Health imposes a number of special requirements on the medicine warehouses for the storage of medicinal products. According to the standards, the warehouse is designed as a separate, spacious, dry, ventilated building, located far from the living quarters. Manufacturers and companies engaged in wholesale trade will have to organize a medicine warehouse with the size suitable for products size, with a minimum of 150 square meters. The most important thing in the storage of medicinal products is observance of special air temperature and humidity parameters, which allow to ensure storage of these products, taking into account the documented standards, humidity and temperature specified in the instructions, on the label, on the box. In order to control the temperature regime, thermometers must be installed in the various working areas of the pharmaceutical warehouse or chamber, the readings of which are recorded with the required frequency by temperature recorders.

Warehousing services are offered for the storage of goods, which will mostly be loaded on ships and require short-term storage until loading on board. This type of warehouse can be equipped with stationary bridge cranes and an open space. The transit and transshipment warehouse is a large cargo terminal with special equipment. Location of the transit warehouse is related to the need to store the goods for temporary keeping. These goods are moved in transit from one mode of transport to another. Warehousing services in a transit warehouse include the storage of goods both in transit from third countries and goods of European origin. Goods in transit are under customs control. The transit of goods takes place mainly on the basis of a TIR carnet or a T1 transit declaration. Upon acceptance of such goods for storage, the warehousekeeper shall enter the data on the customs server, close the T1 or TIR carnet customs document under which the goods have arrived and assume responsibility for the storage of goods in transit. The maximum storage time for non-cleared goods in a transit warehouse is 90 days. After this period, the goods must be cleared through customs or transferred with a transit declaration to another warehouse or to the final consignee. Transportation of duty-free goods from a transit warehouse is possible only on the basis of a new transit document, which removes responsibility from the warehouse for transit storage.

In places where you need a warehouse, but do not have time to build a warehouse, storage containers will be of great help. Storage containers are made on the basis of sea containers and are easy to transport. The walls of the storage container are made of steel profile sheet, steel frame, chipboard floor on steel, crossbeams or hard steel floor. Storage containers are advantageous because they have wooden or steel floors, loading with a crane or loader, can be equipped with an electricity and security package (on request), storage of all goods and cargo, galvanized bars of locking mechanism, access at any time you want.
